23 May 2017. One of the benefits of my current job is that I spend two days per month just sitting in the car park at the end of a small outcrop watching for wader movements between the Loire estuary and the coastline to the south. Being in the car which acts as a hide allows some birds to approach very close as was the case with these Goldfinches (Carduelis carduelis) at the end of May. Nice sunny day, blue sky, blue sea, flowering thistles, Goldfinches, charming 🙂
